2. About Trivio and the Platform
2.1 What Trivio Is — Trivio Technologies Inc. is a charitable giving fintech platform that connects Canadian donors with CRA-registered charities. Trivio facilitates charitable donations and issues official CRA-compliant tax receipts as authorized fundraising agent on behalf of its Charity Partners.
2.2 What Trivio Is NOT — Trivio is not a registered charity, a qualified donee, or a not-for-profit. Trivio is a technology company operating a for-profit financial platform. Trivio's receipting authority derives solely from its Receipting Agency Agreements with Charity Partners.
2.3 FINTRAC Registration — Trivio is registered with FINTRAC as a Money Services Business providing crowdfunding platform services and funds transmission services (MSB N300000695, effective June 8, 2026). Subject to the PCMLTFA — identity verification, transaction monitoring, regulatory reporting.
2.4 The Two-Charge Model — Every interaction involves two separate transactions: (a) Donation Charge — Stripe routes 100% of the donation to the Charity Partner's verified Stripe Connect account; Trivio never holds/commingles donated funds. (b) Tip Charge (Optional) — a separate, clearly disclosed Stripe charge from the Donor to Trivio; voluntary; may be set to zero or declined; not a charitable donation and not receipted.
3. Eligibility and Account Registration
3.1 Eligibility — must: be at least 18 years of age; be a Canadian resident (individuals) or a corporation incorporated in Canada (corporate donors); provide accurate identity info per AML/KYC; not be on the OSFI/UN/other sanctions lists; not be subject to sanctions prohibiting charitable donations; agree to these Terms. By creating an account you represent and warrant you meet all eligibility requirements.
3.2 Account Registration and KYC — create an account by providing: your full legal name (including middle initial for individuals); a valid email address, verified via a confirmation link before account activation; a declaration confirming you are not a Politically Exposed Person (PEP). FINTRAC notice: identity verified per PCMLTFA; donations ≥ CAD $10,000 trigger enhanced due diligence (photo ID + source of funds); info may be disclosed to FINTRAC.
3.3 Account Security — strong unique password; don't share credentials; notify info@trivio.tech of unauthorized access.
3.4 One Account Per Person — one account per individual; multiple accounts to circumvent AML/KYC/limits are prohibited.
4. Making Donations
4.1 Eligible Donations — voluntary + unconditional (no benefit in exchange); in CAD; to an Active-CRA Charity Partner; by the true donor; PCMLTFA-compliant.
4.2 Processing — Stripe charges the donation; routes 100% to the Charity Partner; Trivio receives a webhook confirmation; generates + emails the CRA receipt to your registered email; dashboard updated.
4.3 Minimum / Maximum — minimum CAD $1; no maximum, but ≥ $5,000 flagged for monitoring, ≥ $10,000 triggers EDD before processing; source-of-funds may be requested.
4.4 No Refunds on Completed Donations — final + non-refundable once confirmed by Stripe. Exceptions (contact info@trivio.tech): technical error (within 5 business days), duplicate charge, unauthorized charge. No refunds based on dissatisfaction with a Charity Partner.
4.5 Optional Donor Tips — presented before payment, labelled as a tip to Trivio (not the charity), default amount displayed; adjustable to any amount incl. zero; separate Stripe charge/ID; not receiptable.
4.6 Donor Responsibility — ensure donations comply with law; Trivio gives no tax/legal/financial advice.
5. Official Donation Receipts

8.4 Tipping-Off Prohibition (PCMLTFA s. 8) — if Trivio files an STR/report with FINTRAC, it is legally prohibited from disclosing that fact; not a breach of these Terms.
